The North Carolina Association for Research in Education works toncarelogo improve the quality of education in North Carolina through research and evaluation. Established in 1974, the membership of

NCARE includes teachers, principals, school system administrators, university faculty and staff, graduate students, staff of the Department of Public Instruction, members of the local educational agencies, and people working in private research organizations.

The activities of NCARE are implemented through its elected officers and Board of Directors. The Officers include the President, President-Elect, the Past-President, Secretary, Treasurer. The Board of Directors has six members: a representative of institutions of higher education in North Carolina, a representative of local education agencies, a representative of the Department of Public Instruction, and three at-large members.

NCARE is the state affiliate organization to the American AERA_LogoEducational Research Association.
